Overview
Retina 800 is a fully automated, non-mydriatic fundus camera that brings retinal screening into any optometry practice. Auto focus and auto capture take 45° colour images in a few seconds at the press of a button, with no mechanical adjustment by the operator. A compact footprint and a tablet interface let the practice place it wherever it suits the workflow. Minimal operator training is needed, so retinal photos can be delegated to support staff while the practitioner reviews the results.
Image quality at your fingertips
- Clear, true colour: vessels, arteries, veins, crossing vessels, the retinal nerve fibre layer and the optic disc are captured in true colour.
- Small pupils: images down to a 2.5 mm pupil, even in patients with opacities such as cataract.
- 90° mosaic: seven internal fixation points, controlled from the tablet, let the camera build a mosaic up to 90° horizontally.
- Comfortable positioning: a forehead design without a chinrest limits stray light and lets the patient talk without moving the eyes.
Delegation ready workflow
The interface makes it easy to set up a screening and check image quality before saving. Software tools include red-free and deep layer filters, automatic mosaic, cup-to-disc ratio and a shared folder. Multilevel user accounts record and summarise each patient’s results, and a direct connection to a standard DICOM server allows review elsewhere in the practice. An automatic PDF report combines images, practitioner notes and patient education content. Secure data transmission also supports remote reading by a licensed specialist, where such services are available.
