Screening & Diagnostic

Our screening and diagnostic range helps optometrists and ophthalmologists detect, assess and monitor eye conditions early. It covers the anterior segment, the posterior segment and myopia management: wavefront analysis, corneal topography, optical biometry, non-contact tonometry, slit lamps and retinal imaging. The instruments are built for high quality optics, reliable measurements and simple operation, so you can capture, store and share results with patients with confidence. Every system is supplied, installed and supported by Essilor South Africa.

Anterior segment

Assess the front of the eye in detail. The WAM 800 wavefront analyser combines several measurements in one automated exam. The Cornea 550+ topographer maps the cornea for contact lens fitting and for conditions such as keratoconus and corneal irregularities. Our slit lamp range runs from the SL 300 and SL 400 to the digital SL 650 and SL 650+, and the ATNC 550 provides comfortable non-contact tonometry.

Posterior segment

Detect and monitor conditions at the back of the eye, such as macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy and glaucoma. The Cellview WRI-1 is a widefield, non-mydriatic retinal imager, and the Retina 800 adds retinal imaging to the practice.

Myopia care

The Myopia Expert 700 is an optical biometer that measures axial length precisely, so you can follow a child’s myopia over time and position your practice for myopia management.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Can’t find what you need? Our team is happy to help.

Ask a question

Which instrument should I start with for myopia management?

Axial length measurement is the core of most myopia management protocols. The Myopia Expert 700 is designed for this. Your representative can advise on a setup for your practice.

Do I need to dilate patients to use the Cellview WRI-1?

The WRI-1 is a non-mydriatic retinal imager, designed to capture widefield retinal images without dilation in most patients.

Can diagnostic instruments share data with my practice software?

Many of our instruments connect through Essibox, which transfers data between Essilor equipment and practice management software. Ask us to confirm compatibility with your system.

Can I see an instrument before I buy?

Yes. Contact your area representative to arrange a demonstration.

Not sure which instrument fits your practice?

Tell us how you work and what you want to improve. Your regional representative will recommend options and arrange a demonstration.
